How does the CRP-SEP® work?
1. The CRP-SEP® High Volume Coalescing System can be configured to be gravity fed or have the oily water pumped into the separator by system feed pumps.
2. The oily water flow is directed through four unique corrugated permanent matrix packs where the free oil makes contact with the matrix and coalesces.
3. As the droplets grow, they flow along the incline of the matrix and rise to the top of the vessel.
4. Once sufficient oil has collected at the top of the unit, the oil probe assembly sends a signal that initiates the oil discharge cycle.
5. Heavy solids also settle out because of the reduced fluid velocity. The solids collect at the bottom of each chamber and can be cleaned out through a set of discharge piping or the manhole.
6. Once the oil is evacuated from the unit, the probes sense the lack of oil and signal the system to return to the normal operation of oil separation.
7. Clean water with less than 15ppm free oil is discharged overboard.
