The HELI-SEP single vessel coalescing separator from Compass Water Solutions is familiar to ship operators worldwide with more than 7,000 units in service - proof of reliable performance. Using a high-efficiency coalescing matrix, the unit is capable of separating non-soluble oils, solids and entrained air from oily water.
Originally designed and certified to International Maritime Organization MEPC.60(33), the HELI-SEP can now be upgraded to IMO MEPC.107(49) regulations.
The SPIR-O-LATOR® Upgrade Kit converts installed HELI-SEP units into the ULTRA-SEP™ Oily Water Separator certified to MEPC.107(49) requirements. SPIR-O-LATOR Membrane Technology exceeds IMO standards by reliably and continuously producing clean water with oil content less than 5ppm.

The HELI-SEP can be fitted with an oil content measuring device or bilge alarm to monitor the amount of oil in the separator discharge and initiate recirculation, thus preventing discharge of excess oily water. The bilge alarm is furnished with recirculation and overboard or discharge isolation valves and is pre-wired to simplify and reduce installation cost.
